Common Name : Rubdeckia (Black Eyed Susan)
Latin Name : Rubdeckia Description : Rudbeckia are usually considered an annual in our area, but Goldsturm has survived eight consecutive winters for us. No rudbeckia are completly hardy, but the long bloom time makes them worthwhile to try for as many years as you can get them to go. Do not cut back the dead foliage before winter, as the dead blooms have winter interest and the foliage will gather snow around the base to protect the root for winter. Annual varieties are worthwhile as well. |
